About Journal

Qualitative Inquiry as Praxis in L2 Studies is a peer reviewed journal established by Lorestan University (www.lu.ac.ir), Khorramabad, Iran, dedicated to advancing the understanding of qualitative research methodologies within the field of Second Language (L2) studies. Our mission is to provide a platform for scholars, educators, and practitioners to share innovative qualitative research that emphasizes the practical application of inquiry in diverse language learning contexts. This journal seeks to create a possibility for dialogues between Global North and Global South by offering a forum for a critical engagement with philosophical paradigms, methods, and practices of qualitative inquiries, respecting epistemic diversity as a shift towards anti-oppressive and de-colonized language studies. Aiming at creating a space for hearing the muted voices of the marginalized and excluded groups of participants as the main concerns of qualitative research, this journal includes but is not limited to grounded theory, phenomenology, hermeneutics, narrative research, classroom research, discourse analysis, critical discourse analysis, ethnography, auto-ethnography, reflexive thematic analysis, and case studies. The journal primarily publishes methodological articles, while empirical and theoretical studies are also accepted. This journal adheres to a double anonymized peer review process.
